KARACHI, Dec 29: Skipper Aamir Bashir hit his second century of the season as Pakistan Customs amassed 340 for eight in their first innings on the first day of the Patron’s Trophy Pool ‘A’ tie against DHA at Quaid-i-Azam Cricket Park on Monday.
Aamir, who won the toss, made 108 in almost four-and-a-half hours with the aid of 17 boundaries while facing 190 deliveries. The 31-year-old Multan-born right-hander scored 115 against PTCL at the same venue in the first round game earlier this month.
Fahad Iqbal was the other star for the Customs. The younger brother of Test batsman Faisal Iqbal and nephew of Pakistan batting legend Javed Miandad made 73 on his first-class debut before he was run out in a terrible mix-up with his captain.
Fahad’s 127-ball knock was laced with 10 fours and one six and his fourth-wicket partnership with Aamir was worth 146 in just over three hours.
Nasir Khan, the left-arm medium-pacer, bagged five for 89.
