Two elected unopposed to Bar

GUJRANWALA, Dec 29: The candidates for the office of senior and vice-president of the District Bar Association were declared elected unopposed on Monday.

No candidate filed nomination paper against Asad Saeed as a result of which he was declared senior vice-president.

Nomination papers of Siddiq Nadeem and Arif Nadeem for the office of vice-president were rejected by the Election Board on technical grounds. The board declared the third candidate, Chaudhry Babar, elected unopposed.

Monday was the last date for filing nomination papers for the election scheduled to be held on January 10.

POLLS: The Pakistan Medical Association election were held here on Monday.

Dr Mian Zahid Mahmood was elected president, while Dr Maida Shahid vice-president, Dr Nazish Nadeem general secretary, Dr Imran joint secretary and Dr Fazeelur Rehman finance secretary.

Meanwhile, newly elected office-bearers pledged to continue efforts to resolve the problems of doctors without any discrimination.
