FAISALABAD, Dec 29: Canadian High Commissioner Margaret Huber has said that her country is ready to provide maximum cooperation and assistance to Pakistan for improving security.

Speaking to Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) members here on Monday, she said that in view of escalation in terrorist activities in Pakistan her country had offered a number of security measures.

She stressed the need to launch joint ventures and exchange of trade delegations for the promotion of industrial relations between the two countries.

She also lauded the efforts of the private sector in the advancement of industrial and commercial links between the two countries.

Formalities for the issuance of business visas to Pakistanis were being simplified. She assured that cases of business visas with FCCI recommendation letter would be cleared on priority basis.

Friendly relations between India and Pakistan were beneficial for both the countries for they had a vast market of products for each other, she claimed.

Earlier, FCCI President Mian Aftab Ahmed highlighted the modes of business transactions between the two countries and urged to expand the network by launching joint ventures. He also pin-pointed the problems faced by local industrialists in getting Canadian visas.
