Tevta helped 1,036 students get jobs
LAHORE, Dec 29: The Tevta has developed placement system in its institutes that helped 1,036 students to get jobs in the private sector during last three months.
This was stated by Tevta chairman Sikandar Mustafa Khan on Monday. He was speaking at the certificate distribution ceremony of the two-week institutional management training programme here.
Mr Khan said the Tevta had also placed 3,300 apprentices in the industry.
He said the academic audit of 400 Tevta institutes would be completed by the end of the current session.
He said the Tevta had also developed 50 new demand driven courses of different levels.
Mr Khan said the authority would continue to train its teachers and officers in different phases because well organized management could play its key role for the better functioning of institutions.
He said the Tevta was working on a vision to develop a demand driven and integrated technical education and vocational training system to produce quality and productive work force and enhance global competitiveness in the province. The growth and prosperity of Pakistan was strongly linked with the growth of technical education and vocational training.
Tevta general manager (academics) Engr Zahir J. Piracha said there was a visible change in the level of motivation, enthusiasm and commitment of all training workshop participants.
Government College of Technology, Faisalabad, principal Muhammad Masood said the training programme was an excellent opportunity for them to learn new techniques about the efficient operational management of their institutions.
Later, Mr Khan distributed certificates among 25 district managers, principals, vice-principals and Tevta senior officials.
Tevta’s Lahore board of management president Mohsin M. Syed, member Tariq Bucha, general manager (operations) Qamar Bashir, IMT rector Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad, manager (teachers training) Wajid Husain were also present on the occasion.
