KARACHI: Six die in accidents

KARACHI, Dec 29: Six persons died in three separate accidents in different parts of the city on Monday.

Four persons died and several others injured in a road accident in Malir on Monday morning. Police said that the accident occurred when a speeding bus of route (52-A) and a truck collided head-on with each other on Malir Bridge.

The accident resulted in the death of Saeed, Rehmatullah, Habibullah and Gul Mohammad while four others including Abdul Sattar and Nazar Ahmed were injured.

The bus driver escaped from the spot following the accident. Later, the bodies and the injured people were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

Police said that all the four victims were labourers and were heading for Sohrab goth.

A young man died in a road accident in Korangi Industrial Area on Monday.

Police said that Kada Husain, 25, died when he was hit by a trawler in Korangi Industrial Area. His body was shifted to the JPMC. Following the accident, the errant driver escaped from the spot.

On University Road, an unidentified man, 25, died in a hit- and-run accident. His body was shifted to the JPMC for postmortem examination. Later, it was taken to Edhi morgue for identification.
