Minister’s father killed in road accident

SHEIKHUPURA, Dec 28: The father of Federal Health Minister Dr Naseer Ahmad Khan was killed in an accident while his driver and a gunman suffered injuries on Motorway near Hafizabad on Sunday.

The police said Aslam Khan left Lahore for Islamabad by his car along with driver Amjad Ali and gunman Ahmad Khan. The car overturned and struck against a tree due to the failure of its tie-rod. All the three occupants sustained serious injuries. The Motorway police rushed the injured to Lahore Jinnah Hospital where Mr Khan was received dead. The condition of the two others was stated to be critical. The body of Mr Khan was returned to the family without autopsy.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi and PML-Q leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain have condoled the death of Muhammad Aslam Khan.

They also expressed their condolences on the death of mother-in-law of ARD Chief Makhdoom Amin Fahim. In their separate condolence messages, they prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed souls in eternal peace and give courage to the bereaved families to suffer this irreparable loss.
