FAISALABAD, Dec 28: Hundreds of intending pilgrims have not been able to fulfil the mandatory requirement of vaccination for travel to Saudi Arabia due to unavailability of the vaccine.
The district health office says the required quantity of vaccine has not so far been received from the authorities concerned.
Some intending pilgrims, including aged men and women, alleged while talking to newsmen here on Sunday that some officials had misappropriated the funds meant for purchasing vaccine and were now asking them to get the same from the market.
They further alleged that the intending pilgrims were also not being treated properly by local health officials.
Some of them said they had been visiting the city from far-flung areas of the district for the last seven days to get vaccinated, but to no avail.
They urged the chief minister to take cognizance of the situation and direct the agencies concerned to supply the vaccine required for intending pilgrims.
BOOKED: Lundianwala police have booked four villagers on the charge of cutting precious trees of the Forest Department and selling the same in the market.
Reportedly, forest guard Muhammad Ashraf lodged a complaint with the Lundianwala police, accusing Aslam, Khaliq, Malang and Zaman of cutting precious trees from the official forests.
He also claimed recovery of trees worth Rs 2.5 million from the houses of the accused.
