MULTAN, Dec 27: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has decided to lay an Astroturf at Multan Hockey Stadium at a cost of Rs 35 million, said District Naib Nazim, Multan Malik Muhammad Aamir Dogar on Saturday.
Presiding over a meeting to review progress on under- construction Youth Stadium and Rs 12.1 million Sports Complex projects, he praised the stairs of hockey stadium for spectators, however, expressed his criticism on design of the changing room.
He asked the officials not to repeat the mistake in design of the changing room of football stadium.
He said, hockey and football stadiums would be developed on international standards.
EDO Works Abdul Ghafoor Saqib informed the meeting that work on sports complex was in progress and Rs 3.6 million were being spent on car parking, safety fencing, lighting, jogging track and water supply.
DNN said, a modern gymnasium would also be constructed with the football stadium.
He asked the officers to make available flood lights in the football stadium to enable spectators watch the match at night.
Sports officers, buildings department officer and others were also present in the meeting.—APP
