MMA sees Indian hand in attack

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD Dec 27: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal’s acting president Qazi Hussain Ahmed on Friday termed suicide attacks against President Pervez Musharraf handiwork of forces seeking to destabilise the country, saying Indian involvement could not be ruled out.

Talking with reporters at parliament house, he said blaming religious extremists without finding the truth was unjust and uncalled for.

Similarly, he said, merely blaming Al Qaeda for every terrorist activity was not understandable as in his view such an organisation did not exist at all.

Referring to the constitutional amendment bill tabled in the lower house, the MMA leader said if the government violated the agreement and did not redraft it as had been previously agreed, the MMA would not abide by the agreement nor would it provide the two-third majority to the government for passing the bill.
