Kashmir policy slated

MUZAFFARABAD, Dec 27: Activists of Jamaat-i-Islami took to the streets on Friday to condemn the “deviation by President of Pakistan from Islamabad’s principled stand” on Kashmir.

“We had a firm and principled stand for the past 56 years that Kashmir issue should be settled in accordance with the UN resolutions, but Musharraf’s U-turn has left every sensible Kashmiri in the lurch,” said Dr Mushtaq, former vice-president of JIAJK.

“This (offer) is a clear deviation from UN resolutions and is a betrayal of ... 80,000 Kashmiri martyrs’ blood,” a leader said.
