KARACHI, Dec 27: Noting that President Pervez Musharraf will be the chief guest at the 50 anniversary of the All-Pakistan Newspapers Society, the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalist has urged the president to advise the APNS to implement the 7th Wage Award.

In a press statement, PFUJ president Ahfaz ur Rahman said the 6th wage award was announced eight years ago whereas the 7th award was announced on Oct 8, 2001. It had not been implemented up till now despite the hardships caused by the increase in the cost of living.

The APNS, the PFUJ said in a press release, was resorting to delaying tactics by going to court over the award.
