HYDERABAD, Dec 27: The director general, Hyderabad Development Authority, has said the HDA will be devolved at district level in accordance with the Sindh Local Government Ordinance, 2001, and not at taluka level.

The director general, Ali Ahmad Lund, was speaking at a seminar organized by the Human Development Foundation at a hotel here on Saturday.

Replying to a question, he said the devolution of departments had been clearly defined in the SLGO.

He said the requests from some quarters for devolving the HDA at taluka level was not in conformity with the SLGO.

He quoted the examples of Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar where development authorities had been kept under the district Nazim. He said the Karachi Development Authority had also been devolved at district level.
