LAHORE, Dec 27: The Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) will send within one week Rs3.5 million worth medicines for the Iranians affected by earthquake.
This was stated by PIMA’s relief director Dr Tanveerul Hassan Zubair at a press conference at a local hotel on Saturday.
Doctors Hafeezur Rahman, Akmal Waheed, Babar Saeed Khan, Saqab Ansari and Tariq Mehr constitute the first PIMA team going to Iran through Quetta for the help of Iranian brethren.
The Islamic International Medical College Trust would also dispatch a mobile medical unit for Iran with the collaboration of the PIMA.
Dr Zubairi said that the PIMA had been providing relief to the needy people in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kashmir, Bosnia, Chechnya and Palestinian.
PIMA’s Lahore president Dr Nisar Ahmad, Dr Muhammad Afzal and Dr Muhammad Abubakar were also present at the press conference.—APP
