ISLAMABAD, Dec 26: Army athletes dominated the first day of the National Junior Athletics Championship on Friday winning four of the six finals while on the women’s side Railways took honours in four events.
Imran clocked 10.70 sec to win the 100m final with his team- mate Akbar Ali coming a close second in 10.80. Ali Hassan of Wapda was third with 10.90 sec.
The high jump, 4x400m relay and javelin throw titles were also bagged by Army.
In the women’s events, Nasim Hameed of Railways was home in 12.93 sec to win the 100m sprint while Mehreen came in second clocking 13.46. Sadaf, another Railways runner was third in 13.51.
The championship is being held at the Jinnah Stadium.
