KARACHI, Dec 24: Karachi Port Trust (KPT) reigned supreme as three of their pugilists cruised into junior’s semifinals and four reached cadet finals in All-Pakistan cadet and junior boxing championship in Mirpurkhas on Wednesday.
According to information available here, bantamweight Noshed Fateh of KPT defeated Aamir Khan of Sindh Greens on points in junior category.
KPT’s Mohammad Ali won the lightweight bout when referee stopped the contest with Sindh Whites’ Sajjad Qambrani being outscored.
KPT’s light-welterweight Jan Mohammad emerged as victor after Sindh Whites’ Mohammad Muslim retired in the opening round.
In the cadet class semifinals, KPT’s Mohammad Nisar was the 46kg winner after a RSC verdict against Walid of Sindh Whites.
Mohammad Iqbal of KPT outboxed Arif of Sindh Whites on points in the 48kg, Sindh Greens’ Aneel Hussain was beaten by KPT’s Mohammad Ali on points in the 50kg fight, while Ali Mohammad of KPT was declared winner in the 52kg after Jahangir of Sindh Greens retired in the first round.
Boxers from Balochistan followed KPT as Sakhidad, Mohammad Raza and Murtaza also reached cadet finals, while Khalid Hussain and Munir Ahmad of Sindh Greens also won their bouts.
