HYDERABAD, Dec 24: Promising batsman Bazid Khan scored a career-best 134 to help PIA reach 417 in their first innings on the third day of the Patron’s Trophy Pool ‘A’ match at Niaz Stadium on Wednesday.

Bazid, the 23-year-old son of former Pakistan captain Majid Khan, struck 10 boundaries during his fourth century in first-class cricket. The right-hander, overnight 27, occupied the crease for almost seven hours and faced 299 balls.

Wicket-keeper Ahmed Zeeshan Malik showed his batting prowess by making 34 while putting 102 for the seventh-wicket with Bazid after PIA skipper Asif Mujtaba had gone cheaply this morning.

The former Test left-hander added just two more runs to his Tuesday’s tally of 16.

Facing a deficit of 134, Wapda closed the day at eight for no wicket in the second innings.
