GUJRANWALA, Dec 24: The Anti-Terrorism Court No 1 on Wednesday took serious note of not removing the objections to the chargesheet against the Sialkot jail incident accused by police and issued contempt of court notice to the Civil Lines police station SHO.

The court directed SHO Nisar Ahmad Dhillon to appear before it on the next date of hearing on Jan 8, 2004.

According to reports, the prosecution said district attorney raised many objections to the chargesheet, and nine of those were still to be removed despite several months.

The judge, Iftikhar Husain Shah, issued contempt of court notice to the Civil Lines SHO, saying why then the DPOs of Sialkot and Gujrat had not been included in investigation and why the DIG was not kept in any column of chargesheet.

Meanwhile, Advocate Ghulam Abbas, the father of slain judge Shehryar Bokhari, demanded that the report of inquiry, conducted by the Lahore High Court registrar, should be attached to the police investigation report as it was part of an inquiry.

The court, however, reserved the decision of seeking the LHC inquiry report till the next hearing. Sui gas: The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) provided gas to Mehdowal village in Eminabad which was inaugurated by MNA Imtiaz Safdar Warriach on Wednesday. The project’s cost was Rs4 million.

COMPUTERIZED CARDS: City PML-Q president Alhaj Aslam Butt and Naushera Virkan tehsil Nazim Sardar Tariq Rana demanded that the December 31 deadline for expiry of old national identity cards should be extended up to June 30, 2004, as a majority of people could not get computerized cards.
