SIALKOT, Dec 24: Bandits looted cash, ornaments, foreign currency, electronic items and other valuables worth Rs3.3 million in different strikes in the Sialkot district on Tuesday night.
A gang of six armed robbers stopped a bus carrying a marriage party by establishing a picket on the main Sialkot-Motra-Daska Road near Daakwala village. Exporter Malik Waris, his family and other relatives were coming back to Sialkot from Lahore. The bandits held hostage all of them and started looting. Almost all the women were thrashed badly for offering resistance. The clothes of several women were also teared by the enraged bandits. The bandits scooped ornaments, cash, foreign currency, several mobile phones, movie cameras and other valuables worth Rs2.7 million. The bandits threw all the women to fields in thick fog after tying them with their dupatas and ropes and fled.
