KARACHI, Dec 24: One of the two women shot dead by unknown persons on the main Shaheed-i-Millat Road on Tuesday night could not be identified.
The body of Shaheen Tajamul, 40, mother of three children was identified. She was waiting for public transport opposite the Chase Departmental Store along with three other women when they were shot at by unknown men in a car.
According to a statement issued by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement on Wednesday, Shaheen was a worker of its women wing. She was laid to rest at the Lal Shah graveyard in Malir after the funeral prayers at Tauheed Masjid Chaman Colony .
Police said that Shaheen was undergoing training to learn how to operate the Chinese slimming machines at a distribution company along with two other women, Razia and Jameela, who escaped the firing and are key witnesses in the case. Both the women drew blank about the second woman who was killed in the firing and was wearing a burqa, police said.
The three women were not employees of the private company, but were getting training at the company, police added.
The unidentified woman was also waiting for the bus, according to the two eyewitnesses.
