HYDERABAD, Dec 24: The City Taluka Council on Wednesday demanded that the government should devolve the Hyderabad Development Authority and distribute resources equally among the city’s three talukas.
The council adopted the resolution of Abdul Waheed Qureshi, who said schemes of the Greater Sewerage Programme should be executed properly in different housing schemes.
He said despite grants of millions of rupees, no significant development could be seen in Hyderabad.
He said neither the HDA nor sponsors of development schemes had executed uplift works in Hyderabad, especially in the City taluka.
The taluka council also passed a resolution, calling for establishment of branches of different banks in Phulelli and Paretabad.
Sabiha Qureshi in her resolution demanded the appointment of a woman doctor at the Government Paretabad Hospital.
Drawing the attention of the council towards the last date to fill forms for Computerized National Identity Cards, Usman Abbasi called upon Nadra to extend the date for another six months without additional charges.
He demanded the establishment of more Nadra Swift Registration Centres in the taluka.
Mr Abbasi also urged authorities concerned to ensure that vehicles’ stands were shifted from Sakhi Pir Chari where accidents were taking place frequently.
In his another resolution, he demanded proprietary rights for residents of Gul Shah Bukhari.
NAZIM: Taluka Nazim Latifabad Abdul Jabbar Khan has demanded that the Hyderabad Development Authority should be devolved at the taluka level as per the spirit of the Sindh Local Government Ordinance, adds our Hyderabad Bureau.
He said this during the inspection of various ongoing development schemes in different union councils of the taluka on Wednesday.
