PCB chief praises RCA

RAWALPINDI, Dec 23: Shahryar M. Khan, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday met the officials of the Rawalpindi Cricket Association (RCA) and praised them for their good work.

He assured the Rawalpindi officials, led by president Masood Anwar, of his fullest cooperation and advised them to concentrate on promoting cricket at the grassroots level.

In a meeting that took place at a local hotel which was also attended by regional coach Sabih Azhar, Shahryar told the officials to organise tournaments for kids under-15 years of age.

He said that grounds would be provided for cricket, although this might take some time but promised that nets would given shortly.

Shahryar also said that the PCB would provide some kind of financial assistance to RCA.

Secretary of the association, Javed Sadiq and treasurer Muhammad Afaq, were also in the meeting.
