KARACHI: Electronic warfare

Published December 24, 2003

KARACHI, Dec 23: Recent world events have explicitly highlighted the importance

of communications and electronic warfare for a professional navy.

This was stated by Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Shahid Karimullah, while addressing the annual prize distribution ceremony of the Pakistan Navy Communication and Electronic Warfare Proficiency Competition 2003 held at the Baharia Auditorium here on Tuesday.

He said that there was no denying the fact that electronic warfare was a force multiplier in today’s complex warfare. “Success of any naval operation, particularly in our region, revolves around precise exploitation of these two vital components of warfare.”

The naval chief congratulated the Destroyer Squadron 25 team for winning the competition and urged the other participants to continue the efforts. — APP
