KARACHI :Roads in Baldia need repairs

Published December 23, 2003

KARACHI, Dec 22: Almost all roads in Baldia Town are in a dilapidated conditions and require attention by the civic authorities.

The area has constantly been neglected by the city authorities regarding development work where road infrastructure is in its worst form as hardly a few roads have proper carpeting.

Monsoon rains also played a havoc with roads and very little repair and carpeting work was carried out after the end of monsoon season.

Area people have been facing immense hardships for the last many years as they have to use these ruined roads to go to their workplaces.

Despite countless appeals made to the city high-ups, no step has been taken to undertake the development of roads, they said.

Talking to PPI, a number of people severely criticized the discriminate attitude meted out to the people of Baldia and questioned their claims of being impartial as far as development work is concerned.

The town administration, when contacted, expressed its inability to carry out major development works due to shortage of funds.—PPI
