HYDERABAD, Dec 21: The Councillors Coordination Committee and members of the union council-2, City taluka, have condemned the manhandling of woman councillor Maqsooda Iqbal by UC-2 Nazim Rasheed Qureshi.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Sunday, they warned that if no action was taken against the Nazim, they would observe a hunger strike outside the press club.

They said a report had been lodged at the Market police station but no action had been taken against the Nazim.

They demanded that the local bodies minister, Hyderabad district Nazim and City taluka Nazim should hold an inquiry into the alleged corrupt practices of the Nazim and order his removal in 48 hours.

Those who spoke at the news conference included convener of the committee Abdur Rauf Shaikh, councillors Altaf Qureshi, Farooq Sammo and others.
