BADIN, Dec 21: The Pakistan Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Club has said that flood victims of the district are facing extreme poverty and different diseases and need immediate relief and rehabilitation.

This was said by the general secretary of the federation, Parveen Aijaz, while talking to newsmen here on Saturday after an extensive tour of the coastal area of Badin district.

She distributed clothes, blankets and other items worth Rs500,000 among the rain victims of village Gul Muhammad Lund and Ismail Bhatti near Behdmi 40 km from here.

Salma Murad, who accompanied Ms Parveen, said that the women club would set up an ‘Industrial Home’ and dispensary in the village and would also arrange construction of metalled road from Behdmi to village Gul Muhammad Lund.

The villagers informed the delegation that they were not getting drinking water as the only source of water viz; distributary Gunj Bahar wah, had dried.

The villagers were assured that club would arrange silt clearance of Ganj Bahar wah.

Ms ALMANI BACKED: About 100 youngsters took out a procession in Shadi large on Saturday in support of Shaista Almani, and demanded of the government to protect her.

The protesters were chanting slogans against Balkhsher and termed him a coward person.

Meanwhile, another protest rally against Balkhsher Maher and in favour of Shaista was also held in Golarchi town. Some 300 people marched on the main Ahmed Rajo road.
