KARACHI: LNH golden jubilee programme

KARACHI, Dec 21: The administration of Liaquat National Hospital will organize its fifth symposium on “Evolving Patient Care: 50 Years and Beyond” from Jan 21 to 25.

According to a statement issued on Sunday, the symposium will be a part of golden jubilee celebrations of the hospital. During the symposium, a video-conference on “Atherosclerotic Disorders in Asians” will be arranged, where local specialists will participate in a live discussion on the subject with experts from leading hospitals in Bangkok and Mumbai.

The workshop sessions will feature about 22 workshops on issues of current medical interest, including live hands-on workshops for many sophisticated procedures. Over 20 paper sessions on a variety of clinical and diagnostic disciplines will also be held.

Dr S.A. Hussaini’s lecture on “Institution Building in the Third World,” will be delivered in the plenary session. Interactive debates on “Euthanasia” and “Accountability in the Medical Profession” and plenary sessions on areas of clinical interests would be part of the symposium.

During the symposium, a “Hospital Mela” will also be organized for its employees. From Jan 22 to 25, a book fair would be organized to mark the golden jubilee.

Moreover, a “Public Awareness Week” would be organized from Jan 12 to 17, in which doctors and specialists would provide free advice, awareness leaflets, video programmes and free lectures to general public on the theme of “Prevention is better than cure”.—APP
