HYDERABAD, Dec 18: Left-arm pacer Sarfraz Ahmed claimed a match haul of eight wickets to help Wapda inflict a crushing 112-run defeat on Pakistan Customs in the Patron’s Trophy match at Niaz Stadium on Thursday.
Sarfraz took four for 38 as Customs were sent packing for 94 in the second innings after being set a reasonable target of 207. Off-spinner Aqeel Ahmed chipped in three quick wickets at the fag end of the match.
The last nine Customs wickets fell for the addition of just 27 runs.
Earlier, Wapda added 45 runs to the overnight tally of 112 for five to be all out for 157 in the second innings.
Wapda with two outright wins as in many matches comfortably lead Pool ‘A’ with 18 points. However, they were beaten in both the Patron’s Cup one-day fixtures.
