Jamali asks PAF to keep full vigil

ISLAMABAD, Dec 17: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Jamali asked the Pakistan Air Force on Wednesday to maintain a full vigil to protect the country’s strategic assets against a surprise attack.

Speaking at a special seminar dedicated to the 100th anniversary of powered flight, the prime minister outlined two specific contingencies on which the air force should prepare the “air power employment concepts.”

“Maintain a vigil to protect strategic assets against a surprise attack,” he said and added: “We must have our plans ready and updated all the time to counter any situation.”

The prime minister said the 2001-02 brinkmanship by the adversary had taught us never to lower our guard.

He stressed that the country’s equipment deficiencies must be made up and the operational concepts must cater to all foreseeable situations.—APP
