KARACHI, Dec 17: A remarkable ninth-wicket partnership of 182 between Naveed Qureshi and Rao Iftikhar put Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) in a winning position on the third day of the Patron’s Trophy Pool ‘B’ match against Karachi Port Trust (KPT) at Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar on Wednesday.

Naveed, who added exactly 100 to his overnight 76, finished with an undefeated career-best 176 in 322 minutes off 219 balls with the help of 29 fours and two sixes. Rao Iftikhar, the ZTBL captain, hammered six fours and four sixes in his 78 during the 149-minute stand.

ZTBL ended their first innings at 512 for a lead of 272.

By close of play, KPT were 162 for four in their second innings with Atif Ali Zaidi batting on 60.
