KARACHI, Dec 17: The luckless Defence Housing Authority (DHA) were heading for an innings defeat after being forced to follow-on by Bangladesh ‘A’ on the third day of the Patron’s Trophy fixture at National Stadium.

Bowled out for 158 in the first innings, DHA fared marginally better in their second turn to finish the day at 173 for three with Mohtashim Ali (74) and Rizwan Qureshi (25) putting on 56 for the unbroken fourth wicket partnership.

DHA still need another 114 runs to make the tourists bat again in this Pool ‘A’ match.

Medium-pacers Tarek Aziz and skipper Mushfiqur Rahman shared four of the last five wickets to fall after DHA resumed at the overnight score of 86 for five. Tarek finished with four for 36.

The left-handed Rizwan Qureshi completed a fine half-century and hit 10 boundaries in his gallant 62 off 99 deliveries.

Mohammad Selim, the Bangladesh ‘A’ wicket-keeper, held five catches in DHA’s first innings and claimed another when he sent back opener Asmatullah for 40.
