Hearing in Naqvi’s bail plea put off

By Our Reporter

RAWALPINDI, Dec 17: The special anti-terrorism court no 1 on Wednesday adjourned hearing of the bail plea of banned Islami Tehrik Pakistan (ITP) chief Allama Sajid Naqvi till December 20.

The hearing was adjourned after the defence counsel contended that it had no prior knowledge about the attachment of statements of the two prosecution witnesses (PWs) to the challan papers.

Judge Manzoor Ahmed Mirza was to decide about the bail plea on Wednesday after the prosecution produced challan against the arrested leader before the judge.

The court, however, had to adjourn the hearing as the defence counsel, Zulfiqar Ali Naqvi and Sardar Ishaq Khan, complained that they had not been informed by the prosecution about the papers containing statements of the PWs.
