ISLAMABAD, Dec 17: Pakistan Television would telecast live different programmes of the three-day South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation summit during an over 72-hour transmission starting on Jan 4.

The PTV would also make arrangements for provision of up-link facilities to other channels for the telecast of the summit programmes.

The decisions were made at the PTV’s general managers’ conference presided over by Information and Broadcasting Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.

It was decided that the arrival and departure of all the heads of the states and governments, the opening and closing sessions of the summit and the press conferences would be telecast live during the over 72-hour-long transmission.

The PTV managing director said programmes like discussions, documentaries, music shows and dramas would also be telecast during the transmission.

He said singers were being invited from the Saarc member states to participate in a music programme on the occasion.—APP
