Shahid slams maiden century

KARACHI, Dec 16: A maiden first-class century by Shahid Yousuf put Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) into a healthy position on the second day of the Patron’s Trophy Pool ‘B’ tie against Karachi Port Trust (KPT) at Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar on Tuesday.

Shahid, who was given a life on two by wicket-keeper Farhan Iqbal off pacer Fahad Khan, struck 118 off 149 balls in 217 minutes as ZTBL reached 326 for eight in response to KPT’s first innings score of 240, according to details available here.

The 17-year-old right-hander, who hit 17 fours and one six, was involved in two productive partnerships, putting on 101 for the second wicket with nightwatchman Mubashir Nazir (47) and 108 with Naveed Qureshi for the sixth wicket.

Naveed was still at the crease with 76 that included 13 fours and two sixes.
