BAHAWALPUR, Dec 16: Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has, on the recommendation of provincial ombudsman, granted permission to the education department to appoint 527 special persons as teachers in the Punjab.

While hiring teachers on contract, the recruitment committees had been ignoring the disabled for the last many years, alleged some special persons who filed an appeal against the district governments with Punjab Ombudsman Sajjad Ahmed Sipra.

After hearing arguments of the disabled, the ombudsman recommended the case to the chief minister.

In pursuance of CM’s orders, the provincial education secretary has decided to hire these disabled applicants on contract in the second phase of recruitment.

EXAMS: The middle and Class V examinations will commence in the district on Feb 9 and 21, respectively, according to notifications of the EDO for education.

The last dates for submission of admission forms are Dec 20 for the middle standard examination and Jan 2 for the fifth class exam.
