KARACHI, Dec 16: Eight ships carrying raw jute, steel and bitumen are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where three ships, Bunga Bidara and Kota Waris to unload and load containers and Koriana to unload highspeed diesel were berthed after the departure of two.

Kota Intan and Georges Nikolas departed on Tuesday, while Yuri Kazi, Bunga Bidara, Kota Waris, Koriana and Lecong are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was light where a total tonnage of 59,190 tons comprising 13,708 tons of export cargo and 45,482 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Anjum, with steel, Shalamar, with crude oil, Hyundai Stride, Orient Stride, Norasia Bavaria, Australia Bridge, with containers, Durban Queen, with bitumen and Banga Barta, with 4,759 tons raw jute.
