LONDON, Dec 16: British economic policymakers received a double helping of good news on Tuesday as two sets of annual inflation figures showed falls, though analysts said further interest rate rises were still likely.
Annual inflation as measured by the European Union-standard consumer prices index (CPI) fell to 1.3 per cent in November, the National Statistics office said.
This compares with an annual rate of 1.4 per cent during October, and is well within the government’s new target rate of 2.0 per cent.—AFP
