Joyo panel sweeps SAS polls

HYDERABAD, Dec 15: All the candidates of Taj Joyo group were elected on various posts at the central elections of the Sindhi Adabi Sangat (SAS) held at Muslim College here late on Sunday evening.

A total number of 181 votes were cast out of which 19 votes were declared invalid.

Taj Joyo was elected secretary of the Sangat with 90 votes while his rival Dr Zulfiqar Siyal received 73 votes. Riazat Buriro, who received 73 votes, was elected joint secretary while his rival Mushtaq Ansari received 66 votes.

Asif Mithani was elected treasurer who obtained 91 votes and Noor Jakhrani was elected auditor.

The results were announced by the chairman of the election committee Mr Parwano Bhatti.

For the posts of District Coordination Secretary, Moula Bux Kaka was elected for Hyderabad, Ali Ahmed Talpur (Badin), Abdul Hayee Bhutto (Ghotki), Bekhud Baloch (Sukkur), Aajiz Mango (Sanghar), Abbas Sarang (Jacobabad), Ameen Soomro (Thatta), Manzoor Ujjan (Khairpur), Mumtaz Lohar (Larkana), Qurban Jathial (Dadu), Wafa Ali Bux Junejo (Shikarpur), Mithal Jiskani (Nawabshah) and Razzaq Mastoi (Naushahro Feroze).
