Punters retain title

LAHORE, Dec 14: Defending champions Punters with 158 Victory Points retained the Balijee International bridge championship team event at Lahore Gymkhana on Sunday.

Comprising Ali Abbas Mirza, Tahir Abbas Mirza, Hamid Zaman and Fehmina Shauq Hussain , Punters displayed consistency of form despite their only defeat from Emirates in the fifth round.

In all, 22 teams from all over Pakistan and also UAE, took part in the team championship.

Lipton with, M.A. Ansari, Mirza Shauq Hussain, Abdul Khaliq, Nasir Raza Khan, Mohsin Chandna, Gulzar Bilal were the runners-up while Allana composed of Jan-e-Alam Fazli, Rehman Allana, Sultan Siddiqui, Rasheed Jafar, Munir Attaullah and Sarfaraz Khan.

Team Positions: Punters, 158. Lipton 145. Allana 142. Emirates 141. Giants 142.

In the ladies team matches Electra comprising Roshan Bokhari, Teeta Agha, Najam Abid, Neelofar emerged victorious. Other team positions went to Sirens, Yummy and Pearl.
