54 remote girls’ schools closed

SADIQABAD, Dec 14: As many as 54 girls’ primary schools of the district have not been functioning since long.

Twenty-nine of these schools are located in Liaquatpur, eight in Rahim Yar Khan, 22 in Khanpur and 12 in Sadiqabad. Explaining the cause of closure of these schools, EDO Rana Hazoor Bakhsh said the schools were situated in far-off places almost inacc-essible to the urban female teachers.

There were no female teachers among the local populace in such places. — Correspondent
