PESHAWAR, Dec 14: The education commission, recently-formed by the NWFP government under Shariah Act 2003, held its first meeting here on Saturday, says a handout.

Commission’s Chairman Mufti Ghulamur Rehman presided over the meeting.

The meeting discussed education policies, system and reports of the commissions and various committees constituted from time to time.

It was decided that the commission would first fix its goals and then a deadline would be set for submitting a workable report to the government.

The commission appreciated the separation of managerial and teaching cadres in the education department.

The commission also decided that efforts would be made to submit its report to the government within 40 days from its first session. It was also decided that the commission will again meet on Dec 17.
