KARACHI: Hakim Sadiq laid to rest

KARACHI, Dec 14: Former city chief of Jamaat-i-IslamiHakim Sadiq Hussain, 78, who died on Saturday night after protracted illness, was laid to rest in Askari Graveyard, Gulistan-i-Jauhar, on Sunday.

His Namaaz-i-Janaza was led by City Nazim Naimatullah Khan at Masjid Hayat-ul-Islam, Gulshan-i-Iqbal and attended by JI leaders Prof Ghafoor Ahmad, Dr Mumtaz Ali Memon, Dr Mairajul Huda Siddiqui and others.

Hakim Sadiq Hussain, who was brother-in-law of Prof Ghafoor Ahmed, was one of the close associates of Maulana Maudoodi, founder of the JI.

He has left behind a widow, seven sons and four daughters.
