KARACHI, Dec 9: A special meeting of the Sindh cabinet was held here on Tuesday with Sindh chief minister, Sardar Ali Mohammad Khan Mahar, in the chair.
The meeting had a one-item agenda pertaining to preparing a brief for the Dec 13 meeting of the National Finance Commission, the Adviser to Chief Minister on Information, Salahuddin Haider, said while briefing newsmen after the meeting.
He said the provincial finance minister, Syed Sardar Ahmed, and Sindh’s representative to the NFC, A.K. Lodhi, briefed the cabinet regarding various proposals for the Dec 13 NFC meeting.
Haider further stated that the cabinet reposed confidence in these proposals and was of the view that they have done a “fine home-work”.
On the occasion, Sardar Ahmed gave a detailed briefing to the cabinet on the issue.
It was also pointed out that instead of six, the meeting be called the first one because the NFC has been reconstituted.
Almost all the members of the Sindh cabinet attended the meeting, it was further stated.
Speaker Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah attended the meeting on a special invitation.—APP
