KARACHI: KFHA to build modern shrimp peeling complex

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Dec 9: A modern shrimp-peeling complex costing Rs33 million will be built in Karachi Fish Harbour to facilitate the export of shrimp.

The plan, to be implemented by the Karachi Fisheries Harbour Authority, will be funded by the Export Promotion Bureau.

To evaluate the project, the minister for State and Chairman of EPB Tariq Ikram visited the Karachi Fish Harbour on Monday where he was briefed about the project.

On this occasion, he assured that the EPB would provide funds to the KFHA for the project after considering the feasibility report. He said that the funds would be provided from the Export Development Funds.

At the same time, the minister stressed that other stockholders of the Karachi Fish Harbour should also come forward and contribute their share in the project.
