RIYADH, Dec 8: Saudi security forces on Monday killed a wanted suspect Ibrahim Al-Rayes in a shootout in Riyadh’s residential Al-Suwaidi quarter.
On being tipped off by a citizen about this man’s presence, the Saudi security forces started a hunt, according to a ministry of interior official.
“When the security men were about to nab him near a fuel station south-west of Riyadh, he started shooting at them,” said the official source, adding that when the security men returned the fire, the suspect was killed.
“However, no one among the security men was injured,” the source added.
“Later, forged documents were found on the dead man’s body, in addition to a hand-grenade,” the official source said, adding that when his residence was searched, three hand-grenades, a machine gun, three pistols and a quantity of ammunitions were also found.
Witnesses quoted by wire services said three people were also detained in the raid by Saudi special security forces.
