HYDERABAD, Dec 7: The Insaan Dost Samaji Ittehad, Qasimabad taluka, has threatened to organize an indefinite hunger strike outside the local press club if 206 villages of the city are not regularized.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Sunday, the Ittehad leaders said the villages were on the map of various Dehs before the creation of Pakistan but they had not been regularized and their residents were denied basic facilities.

They said except for paying lip service, the government functionaries and MNAs and MPAs from the city had taken no step for regularization of the villages.

They said the provincial ombudsman had also given a decision in 2002 the villages should be regularized and the villagers should be given proprietary rights and provided basic facilities.

They said Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Jamali, during his recent visit to Hyderabad, had also announced the villages would be regularized.

They appealed to the district Nazim to reject the proposal of including the villages in Kutchi Abadis and demanded to include them in the Sindh Goth Abad Scheme for issuing proprietary rights to the villagers.

They also demanded the development of the villages should be included in the Hyderabad Development Package.

Those who spoke at the news conference included Lal Khan Jatoi, Punnu Khan Baloch, Comrade Ismail Jatoi and others.
