Mengals reject plan to build cantonment

By Amanullah Kasi

QUETTA, Dec 5: A jirga of Mengal tribe has rejected the planned construction of cantonment in Wadh area and stressed upon the government to reverse the decision.

It said the Baloch people would not allow the federal government to go ahead with the plan which “aimed to plunder the resources of the province.”

President of BNP-Mengal Sardar Akhtar Mengal presided over the jirga held in Wadh on Thursday.

The jirga participants alleged that the objective behind the construction of cantonments in Wadh, Sui, and Kohlu was to explore oil and gas without the consent of the tribesmen.
