FAISALABAD, Dec 6: Several PML-Q workers on Saturday injured one another during a clash that erupted over difference of opinion at a meeting held at the circuit house.

The meeting was in progress under the chairmanship of PML-Q Secretary-General Saleem Saifullah when a leader of the party’s Youth Wing, Arshad Naz, stood on his seat and criticized the performance of the local establishment.

PML-Q City President Qamar Zaman Awan, a former MPA, exchanged harsh words with Mr Naz and after some time he, along with his son Shahjehan and some other activists, gave him a sound beating. Mr Naz’s supporters also joined the scuffle during which the members of the two groups injured each other.

However, his supporters escaped threatening the party head that they would get a case registered against him and his men.

None of the parties approached the area police till filing of this report in the evening.

KILLED: A young boy was killed when a stray bullet hit him at a marriage ceremony in Bhaiwala village, on Friday night.

Reports said some friends were firing in the air to enjoy the function when Shoaib, a son of a local property dealer, fell a victim to it. He died instantly.

Area police have registered a case against Naseer and his friends, but yet to arrest any of the revellers.
