GUJRANWALA, Dec 5: The Punjab government has enhanced wheat quota of flour mills from 11,000 metric ton to 12,000 metric ton to provide flour in the market on consolidated prices.
Provincial Food Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal said at a meeting that the provision of flour to shopkeepers in the market from flour mills would be monitored.
For this purpose, he said the checking staff had already been deployed at almost all flour mills in the district.
He said the demand and supply position had been revamped while reports had been sought from food inspectors on daily basis from each district for reviewing the situation at the province level.
The minister claimed that the Food department had sufficient stock of wheat and there was no possibility of shortage of flour in the province.
