Breach floods houses, crops

SUKKUR, Dec 5: Fifteen houses and crops were flooded when a 100-foot-wide breach occurred in the Nether Detho Shakh near Yakoob Langah village in Moro on Thursday.

Villagers said household goods, cash, ornaments and cattle heads were swept away while crops of cotton, rice and sugarcane over hundreds of acres were destroyed.

The affected villagers included Ghulam Hussain Langah, Ibrahim Langah, Khair Mohammad Langah, Budhal Langah, Hidayatullah Langah, Habib Langah and others.

They said the information regarding the breach was given to the irrigation officials who asked them to contact TPO Moro.

They said when they went to the TPO, he asked them to go to the irrigation officials.

Later, villagers tried to plug the breach themselves but could not succeeded. The breach was not plugged till filing the report.

KIDNAPPED: A landlord was kidnapped in Yaroo Lund, Daharki, the other day.

Six dacoits attacked the Buddha Jhatial village near Daharki and opened indiscriminate fire to intimidate the villagers.

They kidnapped a landlord, Ehsan Jhatial.
