Two children buried alive

By Anwarullah Khan

KHAAR (Bajaur Agency), Dec 5: Two children of an Afghan family were buried alive when massive mudslide hit their house at the Kerala refugee camp here on Thursday night.

Reports said that a room in the house of Haji Sher located in the Kerala refugee camp in the Siddiqabad area here collapsed due to the mudslide, burying the two children who were sleeping there.

Local tribesmen and officials of the political administration rushed to the spot and recovered the two bodies from the wreckage.

The names of the victims could not be known.

VEHICLES SHORTAGE: Tri-besmen of the Bajaur Agency faced difficulties due to shortage of vehicles on the roads as a large number of public transport vehicles left for the Tablighee moot in Raiwind, while others raised fares to other cities.

As many as 50,000 people from the agency went to Raiwind to participate in the three-day Tablighee moot there. The faithful hired most of the vehicles to go to the annual congregation.

Taking advantage of vehicles’ shortage, other transporters doubled fares to other cities, thus creating severe problems for commuters.

Bajaur Agency’s Political Agent, Pirzada Khan, taking notice of the situation, ordered action against those transporters who increased fares, sources said.
